Fashion Designer Laquan Smith Turned Up The Heat For NYFW

“When you think Laquan, you think sex, when you see a b*** in Laquan Smith and her fur cost more than your life, you gotta get it together boo.” When I heard this opening, all I could hear was RuPaul in one of those famous underground shows in NYC.

Queens native Laquan Smith brought the essence of sultry and sexy to NYFW by not only showcasing a spectacular collection, but also putting on the most exciting show NYFW has yet to see this season. The new collection varied from bold cheetah prints to classy plaid looks. We saw staggering beauties strut down the runway with fiery red furs, shimmering bodysuits, sheer catsuits, and plaid dresses that boasted unique accents like puffed shoulders.

As if that wasn’t enough, his playlist brought the party right to your chair. He collaborated with Latin DJ Matthew Mazur. What made the designer choose such a feisty, fun soundtrack for his show? Simply, he wanted to make everyone feel good. Smith said, “We wanted to bring back the essence of New York City. Novelty music, music that makes you feel good and makes you get inspired and also has a very sexy attitude.” One word for this entire show: SEXY! Everyone walked out of there, ready to wear his entire collection.
